Obituary of John J. Connelly

John J. Connelly Jr., age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Louise Palumbo Connelly, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fall River, MA on January 7, 1925, he was the son of the late John J. Sr., and Catherine McGowen Connelly. Before his retirement, John was a vending machine technician for the former Bullard's Company. John was an avid gardener, enjoyed fly fishing and loved a great cigar. He was proud to have had a pilot's license and took great enjoyment when his was in the open air, flying. He also loved collecting knick-knacks. But above all, his greatest role in life was that of father, grandfather and uncle. He truly loved his family and would do anything for them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving son, Michael J. Connelly and his wife Alicia of Trumbull, his cherished grandson Cameron, a sister, Elizabeth Droadbent of MA, beloved nieces, Diane, Vicky, Ginny and Elizabeth, as well as several additional nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Eileen, Edward, Madeline and Mary.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
