Obituary of Michele Giansanti

Michele "Mike" Giansanti, age 73, of Stratford, beloved husband of Marisa Marandola Giansanti, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Boville, Ernicia, Province of Frosinone, Italy on May 6, 1945, he was the son of the late Antonio and Giuseppina Zeppieri Giansanti.

Before his retirement Mike was the owner and operator along with his wife of Rose's Family Restaurant of Stratford for 34 years. He served in the Carabinieri in Italy and was a member of the Circolo Sportivo Club in Bridgeport. He enjoyed trips to the casino and loved cooking for his family, especially pizza for the grandkids. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Marisa of 48 years, survivors include three children, Rosemarie Giansanti Dizenzo of Stratford, Anthony Giansanti and his wife Julina of Shelton and Paul Giansanti and his wife Cristina of Oxford, a sister, Vittoria Diana of Italy, brothers-in-law, Frank Marandola of Stratford and Carlo Marandola of Stamford, five grandchildren, Alex, Vera, Anthony, Giuliana and Mia as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent's for all their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwan Lane, Stratford. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
