Obituary of Gregory J. D'Agostino, Sr.

Gregory J. D'Agostino, Sr., age 82, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Joanne C. Ligouri D'Agostino, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on October 5, 1935, he was a son of the late Joseph and Fannie Inglis D'Agostino. A U.S. Army Veteran, Greg retired from the Aquarion Water Co., formerly Bridgeport Hydraulic Co., with over 51 years of service in various management positions. He was a former board member of Call Before You Dig, member of the National Home Builders Assoc., Tashua Knolls Golf Men's Club, Trumbull Kiwanis Club, St. Theresa's Knights of Columbus and the church bowling league. His latest role was VP, Bel-Air Auto Sales where he loved going to the shop with Greg, Jr. to enjoy the camaraderie with the guys. Greg also enjoyed going to his son Stephen's concerts and watching him perform.

Above all these things, his greatest role in life was that of husband, father and papa. He treasured time spent with family and the memories they created will live in their hearts forever.

Survivors include two loving children, Gregory D'Agostino, Jr., and wife Jennifer of Stratford and Stephen D'Agostino and wife Lisa of Trumbull, two grandchildren, Julia and Michael and dear friend Alletta Charland Raucci of Trumbull, four step grandchildren, Joseph, Ryan, Anthony and Alexa. A brother, Joseph D'Agostino and wife Edith of Surf Side, SC; sister-in-laws, Barbara D'Agostino of Seymour and Judith Bonner of Bridgeport and brother-in-law, James Ligouri and wife Jeanette of NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
