Obituary of Julian A. Salomon
Julian Antonio Salomon, age 91, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Noria Briganti Salomon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. Joseph's Center in Trumbull surrounded by his family and dear friends. Born in Cabaiguan, Las Villas, Cuba on December 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Antonio and Niza Salomon and was a longtime resident of Stratford. Julian immigrated from Cuba in 1970, and lived in Spain for three years, before arriving in Bridgeport in 1973. Before his retirement, Julian worked at American Fabrics for over 25 years. He was a longtime member of the Cuban Lyceum Club of Bridgeport, where he enjoyed playing Bingo every Sunday evening with his dear friends. Julian loved his native Cuba dearly, and was also proud and thankful to live in the U.S. He was an avid reader, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and was always up to date on current events and world news. Julian always put his trust in God first in all aspects of his life.
Survivors include his daughter, Nitza Rua and her husband Joe of Stratford, two grandchildren, Aztin Sciuto and her husband Brian and Joseph Rua and his fiancé Pauline Seyfert, two sisters, Sara Salomon and Raquel Salomon, both of Cuba, and many nieces and nephews here in the U.S. and in Cuba, as well as many dear close friends.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
