Obituary of Karen Marlin

Karen Farkas Marlin, age 52, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2018, with her loving family by her side after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on August 13, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Farkas and Doreen Koons Greenwood and her husband Richard of Huntington.

A Registered Nurse, Karen was employed by Bridgeport Hospital. She was dedicated to her career and it showed in the care she provided to her patients. On March 2, 2018, she was given a proclamation by Senator Richard Blumenthal for the professionalism and care she provided to her patients. Above all her accomplishments in life, none was greater than that of mother. Her children were everything to Karen. The unconditional love she gave, bravery she showed, values she instilled upon them, will continue to live in the hearts of her children forever. Karen will truly be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, survivors include three cherished children, Kyle, Jake and Alyssa Marlin all of Trumbull, aunts and uncles, Judy Shell and her husband John, Patricia MacAlee and Robert Greenwood and his wife Michele, her boyfriend Christopher DiPallo and his parents John and Gilda; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
