Obituary of Nikola Nikola

Nikola Nikola, age 71, of Shelton, beloved husband of Carol Cochran Nikola, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 surrounded by his devoted family and friends. Born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1946, he was a son of the late Elias and Margarita Nikola. Nikola was a retired detective for the City of Bridgeport Police Department with 22 years of dedicated service. He was also a Connecticut State Marshall for 21 years. A hard-working man, Nikola enjoyed going to work, treasured Thursday night family dinner, and vacationing with his family. He was proud to have been the first family member to be born in the United States.

 

The most important thing in Nik’s life was his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; the unconditional love and support he provided for his family will continue to live on in their hearts forever. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol, survivors include three loving children, Eric Nikola and his wife Rita of Shelton, Helen Pappano and her husband Patrick of Seymour and Lisa Nikola and Alex Giotis of Shelton, eight cherished grandchildren, Tina, Pat, Michael, Nicholas, Nikole, David, Ava and Mia, six adored great grandchildren, E.J., Erieana, Antonio, Christiano, Fort and Daniela, as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his brother, Steve Nikola.

 

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. George Albanian Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St., Trumbull with Reverend Dennis Rhodes presiding. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.  in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
