Obituary of Jean P. Scalo

Jean “Jennie” Pento Scalo, age 85, beloved wife of James J. Scalo of Trumbull, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in the comfort of loved ones. Born in Bridgeport on February 12, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Antoinette Gaeta Pento and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.  Jean was involved in many church activities and enjoyed traveling.  Jean had a passion for cooking, working and decorating around her house and tending to her gardens in her yard. She had a special flare for interior design and loved to entertain and host parties for family and friends.

 

In addition to her husband James of 61 years, survivors include a son, Jay Scalo of Trumbull, a daughter, Jill Alix of Ansonia, two brothers, Dominick Pento and his wife Mary Jane of Illinois and Vincenzo Pinto of Trumbull and two cherished grandchildren, Phillip R. Caseria of Trumbull and Mariah J. Alix of Ansonia as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Nunzio Pento and two sisters, Antoinette Gabriel and Carmella (Dolly) Crowley.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
