Obituary of Roger H. Brake, Jr.

Roger H. Brake, Jr., age 79, of Cheshire and formerly of Trumbull was released from Parkinson's disease and into the presence of His Savior, Jesus, on Thursday, May 3, 2018, as he passed on peacefully at home. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor Lagerfeldt Brake. Born in Athens, Georgia on June 20, 1938, he was a son of the late Roger H. and Martha Poss Brake, Sr. Mr. Brake was proud to have served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a proud member of Fire Sprinkler Fitters Local 676 and 669 and in 1978 founded his own fire sprinkler company, Brake Fire Protection, Inc. A man who exemplified godly integrity through his life as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, Eleanor, other survivors include his loving children, Jim Brake and his wife Marjie, Scott Brake and his wife Samantha, and Peter Brake and his wife Allison. He is also survived by his 15 cherished grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Abbey, Nathan, Rachel, Scotty, Timothy, Sarra, Matthew, Geoffre, Elyssa, Hannah, Anna, Ava, Lily, Owen, and Asher. Other survivors include his three sisters, Irene Tippett, Debbie Ward and her husband Rich, Tina Koenig and her husband Fred, and his brother, Eddie Brake, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Jeffrey Brake.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. There will be no calling hours.
