Obituary of Jose B. DeMoura

Jose "Morgado" DeMoura, age 75, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Fernanda Goncalves DeMoura, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 with his devoted family by his side. Born on December11, 1942 in Padroso, Montalegre, Portugal he was the son of the late Antonio DeMoura and Josefa Goncalves. He was a veteran of the Portuguese Army, where he served on the special military force, Guarda Fiscal.

Jose was a retired employee of Textron/Avco Lycoming with over 20 years of dedicated service and was also formerly employed by the City of Bridgeport.

He was a member of the Vasco da Gama Club, where he enjoyed watching his beloved soccer team Sporting CP. Most importantly, he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. The unconditional love he provided will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Fernanda, survivors include three loving children, Maria Cristina Zachery and her husband Buddy of Easton, Isabel DeMoura and her husband Markus Wilson of New York and Joe DeMoura and his wife Laura of Shelton, six cherished grandchildren, Gabrielle, Dylan, Clay, Kayla, Jacob and John; as well as a brother and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
