Obituary of Frances Inzerra

Frances Capozziello Inzerra, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Leonard Inzerra, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Born in Bridgeport on October 28, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Christine Nastri Capozziello.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Christine Inzerra Gurevitz and her son-in-law Mark of Trumbull, her two cherished granddaughters, Laura and Juliet Gurevitz, two sisters, Grace Oddie of Branford and Helen Cafero and her husband Dr. Lawrence Cafero of Norwalk, brother-in-law, Alfred Inzerra of Bridgeport. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Gladys Capozziello and brother-in-law, Joseph Oddie.

She was a retired registered nurse, a graduate of the St. Vincents School of Nursing, class of 1945 and had worked at St. Vincents Medical Center for many years and also at St. Joseph Manor and the Carolton Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Inzerra was a member of the St. Vincents Alumni Association. She was a former parishioner of St. Theresa Parish where she served as parish nurse and was an active member of the Confraternity of the Rosary. She was a member of the Italian Community Club. Mrs. Inzerra touched the lives of many through her passion and dedication for nursing and her love for her family and friends. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
