Obituary of William F. Hall
William Francis Hall, age 82, of Bridgeport, beloved husband (almost 54 years) of the late Lorraine M. Hall passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018 at CT Hospice in Branford with his loving children by his side. Born in Bridgeport on September 27, 1935, to Mary Mulligan Hall (later Hussey) and Thomas Hall, Bill attended Sacred Heart School and Warren Harding High School.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army (1957-1959), where he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the 4th Armored Division, Company D, 1st Medium Tank Battalion. Bill worked for over 40 years at Warner's formerly in Stratford, retiring in 1998 as Operations Manager. Bill was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who was hardworking and had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed photography, woodworking, fish aquariums, eating Milky Ways and drinking ice tea.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Dr. Laura M. Hall of Manchester and his son, William J. Hall of Plainville, 2 grandsons, Wil Hall of MA and Robert Hall of Plainville, nephew, Thomas Hall (Peg), nieces, Susan Hall Marvin (Richard), Amy Hall Newman (Jim), many great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins. In addition to his wife, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Hall.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Burial with full military honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to either the American Kidney Foundation, 1463 Highland Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410 or the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Fl., Rocky Hill, CT 06067 in Bill's memory.
The family wishes to thank all the many providers who helped Bill over the years with special thanks to the nurses at St. Vincent's Medical Center's CHF Clinic and the staff at CT Hospice in Branford.
