Obituary of Doris M. Ruggiero

Doris Mary (Koundry) Ruggiero, age 89, of Ansonia, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Born in Bridgeport on January 5, 1929, Doris was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Yanzo) Koundry. Doris was a graduate of Saints Cyril and Methodius Elementary School, as well as Saints Cyril and Methodius High School, class of 1945. After school Doris went to work for R.B. Birge as a Billing Clerk and gave 25 years of dedicated service to the company before her retirement. A beloved wife, Doris was predeceased by her husband Anthony Ruggiero. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. Doris will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her four children; Frank Ruggiero (Linda) of Dover, DE; Tony Ruggiero (Elaine) of Ansonia; Maryann Gintant (Gary) of Libertyville, IL; Richard Ruggiero (Jeanette) of SC; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was also predeceased by a grandson, Tony Ruggiero.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
