Obituary of Edward John Norcel

Edward John Norcel, age 80, of Trumbull, CT, passed away at Bridgeport Hospital on December 20, 2017 after a short illness. He was born on December 3, 1937 in New York City. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Manya Besaha.

Ed graduated from the Engineering Specialty School, Peter Stuyvesant High School, Columbia University and received his MBA from Baruch College, all in New York. He was an advertising and marketing executive who worked for Detecto Scales and Stauffer Chemical before his retirement.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jackie Casale Norcel; a sister, Genevieve (Nicholas) Laurora of New Bern, NC, and her 4 children, Dr. Rosanne (Michael) Smith, Dr. Marisa (David) Laurora, Nicholas (Irene) Laurora, Jean Marie (Tex) Davis; sisters-in-law Carolyn (Chuck) Sharkey and Grace (Chik) Pallatta, brother-in-law, Fred Casale, Jr., nieces Stephanie (Dave) Hooper, Carolyn (Rodrigo) Baris, Carolyn (Genzeb) Casale, nephew Fred (Valerie) Casale III and many great-nieces and nephews. Ed is also survived by his beloved Texas family, Kim and Jeff Scofield, Katie (Ben) Chandler, Reid (Lisa), Megan, Michael and Ryan Scofield. Ed loved reading, the theater and had a great interest and talent for the stock market. He was a WWII enthusiast and could compute numbers in his head at lightning speed.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 4 to 8pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull.
