Obituary of Walter Jelacic

Walter Jelacic, age 54, of Shelton passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Jarosz Jelacic. Born in Bridgeport on June 3, 1963, he was a son of the late Stephen and Katherine Bobinac Jelacic. Walter had been employed by Sikorsky Aircraft as a helicopter mechanic with many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed Mustangs and photography and was extremely proud of the photos he had taken during the Vibes Music Festival. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and will be greatly missed by his Great Dane, Roxy. In addition to his beloved wife of 30 years, Barbara, other survivors include his cherished sons, Stephen C. Jelacic and his fiancé Brittany Stoner, Christopher A. Jelacic and Jacob W. Jelacic, all of Shelton, his sisters and brother, Mary Miller and her husband Gary of Stratford, Peter Jelacic and his wife Ghislaine of Croatia and Gloria Milas and her husband Gary of Sandy Hook, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
