Obituary of Maria Feola Nicholas
Maria Nicholas, age 66, left this world suddenly, yet peacefully on November 21, 2017, leaving a profound emptiness within all who knew and loved such a heartfelt, passionate, and selfless woman. Daughter of Raimonda Palmarozza Feola of Shelton and the late Nicola Feola, Maria was born January 9, 1951, in Flumeri, Italy, Province of Avellino and immigrated to America with her parents and two sisters in 1969. Maria was a creative woman and a talented cook with a vivacious spirit for life, a unique yet classic sense of style, and an infectious laugh that surely will continue to echo in our hearts. Maria especially enjoyed venturing out on early weekend mornings to tag sales, where she would always seem to uncover hidden pieces of jewelry or china or figurines, often turning them into gifts for those whom she loved. She also enjoyed long walks, trips to the casino, and making her own jewelry. Maria made it a priority to enjoy life and all its offerings, including music, dance, food, art, and travel, but above all else, Maria loved her family wholeheartedly with an incredible sense of self-sacrifice. Maria was the kind of woman you want in your life and was a beloved friend, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She will be deeply, deeply missed.
In addition to her beloved husband Christopher and her mother Raimonda, survivors include a loving daughter, Sabrina and her husband Aaron Strane, three cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Derek and Alana, two sisters, Nicolina and her husband Rocco Lungariello; and Gina and her husband Neil Potash, nieces and nephews, Debbie Lungariello; Gilda Gallagher and her husband Brendan; and Rocky Lungariello and his wife Shannon, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial.
