Obituary of Kathryn H. Higgins

Kathryn Hurley Higgins, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017. Born April 19, 1922 in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta Tracy Hurley. Kathryn was a graduate of Western Connecticut State Teachers College and taught in the Norwalk and Bridgeport Public Schools. She is survived by two nieces, Lynn Fischbeck of Peekskill, N.Y.; and Tracy Barney of Stamford; a nephew, Joseph Barney of Bridgeport; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Higgins Jr. and a sister, Loretta Hurley Barney. Friends are invited to meet on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in her name to a charity of choice.
