Obituary of Mary Grabowski

Mary Scrivani Grabowski, age 84, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Andrew "Crash" Grabowski, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cornwall, New York on March 30, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Scrivani and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. She was a former employee of Bridgeport Jai-Alai. She was devoted to Our Lord and The Blessed Mother through prayer, saying the Rosary and the Chaplet daily. She was a selfless and caring woman, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed being with her family endlessly. She will be truly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her ten children, Maria Malerba and her husband Bill of Ansonia, Joseph Grabowski of Oxford, Anthony Grabowski and his wife Jo-Ellen of Monroe, Theresa Cavalli and her husband Tony of Trumbull, Helen Lieto of Trumbull, Christina Migliaro and her husband John of Monroe, Catherine Marrero-Grabowski of Bridgeport, Robert Grabowski and his wife Margie of Trumbull, James Grabowski and his wife Rachael of Trumbull, Gina Paternoster and her husband Corey of Stratford, son-in-law, Joe Lieto, grandchildren, Michele Palumbo and her husband Anthony, Suzanne Macero and her husband Matt, Angela Malerba, Stephanie Fig and her husband Chris, Michael Grabowski, Teressa Cuccinello and her husband Nick, Brittany and Carissa Cavalli, Eddie Figueroa and his wife Brittany, Joey Lieto and his wife Bridget, Dominic, Jana, and Isabella Migliaro, Viviana Cardona, Andrew, Elizabeth and Jay Marrero, Noah Grabowski, Briana and Kayla Giacobbe, James, Anthony and Hannah Grabowski, Sophia, Corey, Briana and Michael Paternoster, great grandchildren, Gino and Elisa Palumbo, Adam and Maya Macero, Samantha and Matthew Fig, Annabelle Figueroa and J.J. Lieto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Ernie, Pete and Peter Scrivani, a sister, Palma Genova and daughter-in-law, Doris Grabowski. The family would like to thank her doctors for all of their care these last few years, Dr. Yousuf Ali, Dr. Judy Castillo and Lauren Freer, Dr. Michael Sergi, Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan and all the staff at Bridgeport and Yale New Haven Hospitals. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Augustine's Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Monday, November 13, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
