Obituary of Joseph Giacobbe Sr.

Joseph Giacobbe Sr., age 96, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Giuseppina Silano Giacobbe, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center.

Born in Flumeri, Province of Avellino, Italy on April 5, 1921, he was a son of the late Angelo and Maria Felecia Masucci Giacobbe. Mr. Giacobbe served in the Italian Army during World War II and later worked for Sprague Meter for many years before his retirement. He loved gardening and tending to the flowers however his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his family.

Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by all. He was predeceased by a son, John Giacobbe and his brothers, Raffaele, Francesco, Angelo, Louis and his sister, Rose.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Framularo and her husband Charles of Newtown and Mary Autuori and her husband Tony of Trumbull, a son, Joseph Giacobbe, Jr. and his wife Julie of Trumbull, grandchildren, Charles, Carla, Anthony, Laura, Alicia, Joseph and Joy, great grandchildren, Sasha Quinn, Sara Rose, Luca Jameson, Cristiano, Emma Rose, Riley and Joseph, his sister, Prudenzia Granaudo of Italy, as well as several nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Joseph's wonderful caretaker Gerald for the care and compassion he extended.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
