Obituary of Louise C. Thoman
Louise Campbell Thoman, age 88, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Kenneth F. Thoman, passed away on October 26, 2017. Born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, on February 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Jeannette Campbell. She was a Trumbull resident for over 50 years. Louise earned her Associates Degree from Becker College. She was a dedicated volunteer at the International Institute of Connecticut, Bridgeport, where she taught English to many immigrants. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center. While at the Easter Seals Rehab Center, she was the editor of the cookbook, Our Special Blend and named the Volunteer of the Year in 1988. Louise was an avid golfer and was a past President of the Tashua Knolls Ladies 18-Holers Golf Club.
Survivors include three loving sons, Mark and his wife Nancy, Paul and his wife Kathy, and David and his wife Andrea, and five cherished grandchildren Julie, KC, Wesley, Kyle and Seth.
Friends may greet the family at a Memorial Gathering celebrating her life on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. No flowers please, but memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants, 670 Clinton Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06605. Burial will be held privately at Arlington National Memorial Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
