Obituary of Eugene R. Olbrys

Eugene (Gene) R. Olbrys, age 78, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 30, 1938 in Poland, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen Olbrys. A. U.S. Army veteran, Gene was a self-employed painting contractor.

A loving and caring person, Gene always gave of himself. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted father and an awesome grandfather. He treasured when the family was all together, especially his grandchildren. Family was very important to Gene; the unconditional love he gave and the memories created will always live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will truly be missed.

Survivors include his two loving sons, Michael Olbrys and his wife Ana of Milford and Joseph Olbrys of Tampa, FL, a grandson, Ryan Olbrys as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted partner, Elaine DellaRocco and her children, Dawn (Guy), Duke (Sarah), Dana (Tony) and Christopher (Joanna); and Anthony, Sara, Chayse, Ava and Lia, who affectionately called him grandpa. He was predeceased by his brother John Olbrys.

Friends are invited to meet directly in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull, on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 12 p.m. for a graveside service. There will be no calling hours.
