Obituary of Richard P. Patria
Richard "Ace" P. Patria, age 80, passed away in Bridgeport surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 14, 2017. He was born on March 24, 1937, in Bridgeport a son of the late Joseph and Lillian Tiberio Patria. Richie graduated in 1956 from Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He started his career joining the Stagehand Union – Local 74 in 1964 working locally at the Shakespeare Theater in Stratford and the Klein Memorial in Bridgeport. Starting in 1975, he spent many years on Broadway in great productions such as "Annie", "Les Miserables", and retiring in 2010 from "The Producers". He loved sports, his dog Koko, vacationing in Aruba and Hawaii, and above all his family. His teasing nature and hearty laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Patricia Puglia Patria, his loving son, Anthony J. Patria, his brother, Joseph Patria and wife Marion of Stratford, his sister Lillian Berarducci and her companion Ray Klein of Monroe, as well his cousins, Anita and Nicholas Didio of Trumbull, and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Avenune, Bridgeport on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
