Obituary of Mary E. Chuba

Mary E. Simoncelli Chuba, age 95, of Bridgeport, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born in Bridgeport on October 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Assunta Fabbretti Simoncelli. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Michael Chuba, and her siblings Louise Fiore, Rose Fraboni, Viola Trotta, Dominic Simoncelli and Evelyn Kundrac.

 

After graduating from Warren Harding High School, Mary worked for the Bridgeport Brass Co. when she was younger and later worked as a sales associate at Read's Department Store, Jordan Marsh and A&S (the predecessor of Macy's) until she retired. Mary always enjoyed meeting her sister-in-law, Gloria Simoncelli and friends at the Trumbull Mall, spending time with local nieces, Maryann Gombos and Jean Fraboni and cherished her visits with her Hartford area nieces and nephews and their families: Jane Benedetto, Mary Belval, Joseph Mazza, Anthony Mazza, John Mazza and Michael Fiore.

 

Survivors include her two loving sons, Michael Chuba and his wife Alicia of Norwalk and Gary Chuba and his wife Diane of Shelton and six cherished grandchildren, Brian, Stephen, Kristin, David, Kevin and Kayla as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4-7 pm.
