Obituary of Oley Allen Morgan

Oley Allen Morgan, 64, of Stratford, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 7th at Bridgeport Hospital. Al was born in Welch, West Virginia on August 23rd, 1953 to the late Oley H. Morgan and Barbara Beverly Morgan of Shelton, Connecticut. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth, on August 3rd 1974 in Wolf Pen, West Virginia. For many years, Al was a devoted parishioner and board member of The Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, but last year, the Lord led him to the First Baptist Church of Shelton, where on his first service he knew he had found the spiritual home with Pastor Ken Smith that he loved and needed. As the owner of Oley A. Morgan Home Improvement, he spent the past several years working for Aspetuck Village where he built many lasting relationships. He was genuinely one of the most kind hearted, compassionate and generous souls to all that knew him. The old saying about giving someone the shirt off your back couldn’t have been more appropriate to describe Al. A true outdoorsman, he loved to fish and took great pride in tending to his floral and vegetable gardens. His greatest joy, however, was found in the time that he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Every day he expressed how blessed he was to have the family that he had.

In addition to his mother, Barbara and beloved wife, Elizabeth, of 43 years, other survivors include his loving daughters, Jennifer Michelle Morgan and her husband Javier Cuevas and Pamela Ann Morgan, both of Shelton, two cherished grandchildren Jordan Nicholas Peck and Ava Elizabeth Cuevas, his sister, Doris Dubail and her husband Guy of Monroe, his brother, Steve Morgan of Shelton and brother-in-law William Figlar of Stratford. He is also survived by a niece, Aimee Morgan- Chase of Shelton, a nephew, Jeffery Dubail of Monroe and several cousins, too numerous to mention. He was pre-deceased by his nephew, Joshua Dubail.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 13th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in First Baptist Church, 178 Leavenworth Rd., Shelton. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oley A. Morgan Fund at First Baptist Church of Shelton.
