Obituary of Ernesta A. D'Ambrosio

Ernesta Angela D'Ambrosio, age 90 of Norwalk and formerly of Trumbull CT, beloved wife of the late Nicola D'Ambrosio, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 19, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in Canale d'Isonzo, Italy on October 17, 1926, the fourth of eleven children, of the late Luigi and Teresa (Bajt) Berdon, she immigrated to the United States in 1956 and became a proud U.S. Citizen. Prior to her retirement, Ernesta worked for over 20 years at Warnaco in Bridgeport. Ernesta was a strong, fearless lady. She was an excellent cook, and when she wasn't trying a new recipe, you could find her gardening or sewing. She greatly cherished spending time with her grandchildren and they brought her much joy. Most importantly, she placed her family first and made sure she took care of them with all her time, love, and delicious homemade cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Ernesta is survived by her two daughters, Maria Tyburski and her husband Kevin, and Ellida McMillan and her husband Stewart; and her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Tyburski and Stewart, Nathaniel and Nicole McMillan. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy and Slovenia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning prior to the Mass from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
