Obituary of Nicholas Kostuk

On August 9, 2017, Nicholas Kostuk joined his beloved wife, Sally Koteas Kostuk, who predeceased him after 70 years of marriage. They are now able to fulfill their vow of "together forever". In addition, Nick joins his son Alex and his brother Mike who predeceased him. Born on February 13, 1919, in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Ilya (Alexander) Kostuk and Mary Lewko Kostuk. He leaves behind to remember his bright smile and kidding nature, his daughter, Sandy Banks and her husband Dan, of Monroe. Nick was very proud of his grandsons, Nick and Todd of Shelton, along with their wives Julie and Tara. He will be greatly missed by his great granddaughters, Diana and Lily Banks, who enjoyed spending time with "Pop Pop", Nick's family in Texas, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, grandchildren, Sally, Christy, Jamie, Whitney, Alex, Ashley, Olivia, Jazmine, Maddy and Brooklyn, fondly remember his visits. In addition, Nick leaves his sisters, Jennie Uliasz, Nina Plukas and brother, John Kostuk, as well as several nieces and nephews, who have many special memories of him. Nick was very proud of his services as an Air Force pilot during World War II. He served with honor and distinction for seven years. After returning home from the service, he had his own business as a plumbing and heating contractor in Bridgeport. In accordance with Nick's wishes, funeral services will take place on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull with Reverend George Coco presiding. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
