Obituary of Philip S. Nucera
Philip S. Nucera, age 83 of Westbrook, beloved husband of the late Ruth Gabriel Nucera, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born in Bridgeport on December 29, 1933, he was a son of the late Saverio and Vera Tessitore Nucera and prior to moving to Guilford with his wife Ruth in 2005, they resided in Trumbull for 41 years and Huntington for three years.
Mr. Nucera served his country in the United States Army and before his retirement he was the owner of Philip S. Nucera Builders for over 40 years. He was a devout catholic and always attended Mass wherever he lived. Philip enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his brothers and all his family. He was a very active person and always on the go and loved to travel.
He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Lisa Duncan and her husband Fred of Scottsdale, AZ, Natalie Nucera of Westbrook, Diana Lovanio and her husband Richard of Trumbull and three brothers, Joseph Nucera of Trumbull, Gerard Nucera and his wife Sylvia of Fairfield and Jeffrey Nucera of Southport as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered lovingly by his grandchildren as Their Papa. They are Kendall, Amanda, and Cole Duncan and Evan and Anthony Lovanio.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Aphasia Association, P.O. Box 87, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
