Obituary of Mary Martha Lewis
Mary Martha Lewis, age 62, of Oxford and formerly of Southbury passed away peacefully on July 25, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center after a brave and courageous battle with cancer for the last year. Born in Derby on September 3, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Burton and Anna Fox Lewis. A longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, Mary also enjoyed her work at the Kennedy Center. Her greatest pastime was caring for her birds and she loved anything that was blue, especially cars.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Burr of Danbury, her aunt, Mrs. Roseanne Fox of Oxford, her cousin and best friend, Roxanne Fox, and additional cousins, Craig Fox and his daughters Devin and Nicki, Joan Fox Goodwin and her children Alexia and Jordan and Sandy Davis. She is also survived by her special friend, Melvin Turner of Oxford, as well as her family of friends and staff at the Clasp Home in Stratford. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her uncle, Bill Fox.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. directly in Riverside Cemetery, Oxford.
