Obituary of Maria E. LaVelle

Maria E. LaVelle, age 58, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Richard J. LaVelle, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Born on February 10, 1959 in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank Di Bitetto and Lucille Speechio Di Bitetto. A self-employed professional cook Maria prepared meals for many of the local Priests and rectories over the years, in particular St. Stephen's Church in Trumbull. In addition to her passion for cooking Maria also had a love for assembling floral arrangements for many different functions. Originally a Mets fan, Maria converted to a Yankees fan to root for the same team as her husband. Maria would never pass up a trip to the casino. Survivors include her loving husband Richard of Trumbull, brothers, George Di Bitetto and his wife Salavina of Wantagh, Long Island, and Michael Di Bitetto and his wife Cecile of Shelton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
