Obituary of Mary Ann Cardellichio

 

Mary Ann Cardellichio, age 83, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 30, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Marie Dota Cardellichio and was a lifelong city resident. She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and before her retirement, Mary Ann was an office manager for over 62 years with Trumbull Center Property Management alongside Dick Aiello. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church of Bridgeport where she was a Eucharistic Minister, the first woman usher, a past officer of the St. Theresa Guild and a volunteer at the food pantry. She was a recipient of the St. Augustine Medal from Bishop Lori. She always enjoyed the many trips with her sister Betty and her niece to the casino. She was the loudest cheerleader for the UCONN Girls Basketball and an avid fan of the New York Mets. Mary Ann was the best sister ever and loving aunt and was loved by all who knew her.   

 

Survivors include her beloved sister, Elizabeth Cardellichio of Bridgeport, nieces and nephews, Donna Mencel and her husband David, Denise Dumas and her husband Mark, David Mencel and his wife Julie, Robert Cardellichio and his wife Martha, Zachary Cardellichio and Liliana and Annaliese Dumas and cousins, Jay Guastella and Angie Gallucci. She was predeceased by brothers Ralph and Nicola Cardellichio.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.  Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
