Obituary of Louis J. Grisaro

Louis J. Grisaro, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Lillian Sadowski Grisaro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Ludlowe Health Care Center, Fairfield. Born in New York, New York on August 8, 1921, he was a son of the late Joseph and Luisa Pistocchi Grisaro. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp 4th Division, he participated in the battle of Iwo Jima, Tinian, Okinawa and Saipan. Louis was a retired Firefighter for the City of Bridgeport. Upon his retirement he began a second career as a carpenter at the University of Fairfield and also previously worked for Chance Vaught and Sikorsky Aircraft. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and time at the beach. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church and volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America. At the end of a hardworking day, he truly enjoyed to relax and enjoy a glass of good wine. But above his accomplishments, his greatest role was that of loving husband, father, and grandfather. He treasured time with his family, especially his grandson. Louis will be sadly missed. Survivors include his loving daughter, Judith L. Conway and her husband John of Trumbull, a cherished grandson, Matthew D. Spinner and his wife Elizabeth of Denver, CO, a sister Marie Branca of Castaic, CA; nieces, Lisa Bryngegard and her husband Gary of Castaic, CA, Donna Schienle and her husband James of Valencia, CA and Maria Grisaro of Baton Rouge, LA. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Grisaro. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial.
