Obituary of Pauline L. Steorts
Pauline Ledora Lewis Steorts passed away on April 24, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. She was 94. Born in Presque Isle, Maine, she loved traveling, photography, writing letters and taking a daily stroll at Walmart, where everyone knew her name. She retired from Perkin-Elmer after 30 years of service, where she made many friends, continuing to venture out with them to local diners, coffee shops, and Sunday church services. No holiday was ever complete without Nana taking dozens of photos of her precious family.
Pauline leaves a daughter, Leslie Gennarini, and son-in-law Robert of Monroe, a niece, Diane Lewis Driskill of Oklahoma City, and best friend, Gloria Breese of Norwalk. She was 'Nana' to three grandchildren: Rob and Joan Gennarini of Bear, DE; Andrew and Lyn Gennarini of Houston, TX; and Amy and Jason Milleisen of Montclair, NJ, and four great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by siblings Clair, Margaret, Edna, Wesley, and Elmer "Buddy" Jr.
The family thanks all the nurses and caregivers at Mayfair Health Care Center and especially Nicole of Optum for all their loving care and patience. As an animal lover, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Connecticut.
Friends may call Friday, April 28 at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
