Obituary of Maria A. Santos

Maria (Micas) Albuquerque Pinto Santos, age 92, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Cipriano Santos, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2017 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center. Born on May 27, 1924 in Esmolfe, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Emidio Albuquerque Pinto and Olivia DeJesus. A seamstress by trade, Micas enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. The quilts and blankets that were made for the family will always be a symbol of the unconditional love she gave to her family. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her loving children, Lee Santos and his wife, Mindy of Derby and Louisa Albuquerque and her fiancé Joe Burden of Monroe, five loving grandchildren, Steven Santos and his wife, Rachel, Diana Guerra and her husband, Edward, Jay Freer and his wife Tammy, Ryan Freer and Kyle Albuquerque, six cherished great grandchildren, Alexander, Jackson, Brooke, Logan, Peyton and Lincoln; brothers and sisters, Hermino Pinto and his wife Lucinda of Bridgeport, Alfredo Pinto of Stratford, Alexandre Pinto and his wife Cecilia of Rhode Island, Luzita Lopes of Fairfield, and Olivia Lagos of Lisbon, Portugal, a sister-in-law, Regina Machado of Portugal, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Albuquerque and Nazare Pinto and a brother, Antonio Albuquerque. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
