Obituary of Joseph S. Politch

Joseph S. Politch, age 83, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores "Chickie" Rolfe Politch. Born in Scranton, PA on September 16, 1933, he was a son of the late John and Josephine Janik Politch. A proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, Joseph was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked as a technical writer before his retirement with many years of dedicated service. Joe loved his time at the racetrack and was also a huge New England Patriots fan, however, his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Chickie, survivors include his devoted children, JoMarie Politch and Kim Wardlow and her husband Howard, both of Stratford, two cherished grandchildren, Brendan and Caitlin Wardlow, his sister-in-law, Peggi Politch of South Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, MaryAnn Sajda and brother, Jack Politch. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
