Obituary of Julia M. Pietrangeli

Julia M. (Julie) DiTirro Pietrangeli, age 69, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Giulia Tontodonato DiTirro. Mrs. Pietrangeli had been employed by the City of Bridgeport, where she worked in the payroll department before her retirement in 2013 with nearly 20 years of dedicated service. In addition to being a fantastic cook, she was also a devout Catholic and her faith was extremely important to her. Her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Their care and well-being were of utmost importance to her and she would have done anything and everything for them. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband Jack of 47 years, survivors include her loving sons, Jeffrey Pietrangeli and his fiancée Vanessa Braca of Trumbull and Jason Pietrangeli and his fiancée Lisa Golden of Bronx, NY, four cherished grandchildren, Michaela, Luca, Keira and Sean and her sister-in-law, Carmela Palmieri and her husband Antonio of Trumbull. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Carmela and Ornella Palmieri, for their lifelong friendship, loving care and devotion. They would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Vitas Home Hospice Team for their compassion and exemplary attention that was extended during this very difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
