Obituary of George H. Hoag
George H. Hoag, Jr., age 90, of Bridgeport, a retired supervisor of the Parks Department for the City of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in his residence. Born in Bridgeport on February 23, 1915, he was the son of the late George H. and Rebecca Thornton Hoag, Sr. and was a lifelong city resident.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Yolanda Gatti Hoag and two sisters Lily Yacko and Shirley Gullick.
Survivors include two sons, George Hoag, III of South Carolina, Robert Hoag and his wife, Mary of Milford and a daughter, Rebecca Hammill and her husband, Charles of Boca Raton, Florida, a brother William Hoag of Fairfield, a daughter-in-law, Nora Hoag of Shelton, five grandchildren, George Christopher Hoag, Patrick Hammill, Alexandria Fair, Janet Christensen and Nicole English, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
