Just saw this by pure chance. John was a law school classmate and, more importantly, a great friend. The prior condolences capture all the good things about him. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear about John
I was friends with John when we were younger. We both lived on Tashua Rd. We played a lot of football together. We would form the Tashua Rd kids and we would play the broardbridge Rd kid at old mine park. We also did a lot of bicycle riding together all over Trumbull.
Lots of good memories.

I just heard the news of his passing today and wanted to offer to his family my condolences. I've known John for better than 7 years through a mutual friend, Walter. Both of which left us too soon.
I saw him interact with friends that knew him longer and could tell that he cherished these long time friendships and that the feelings were mutual.
He will surely be missed but not forgotten.

I have been friends with John for the past 45 years. We played hundreds of rounds of golf together and spoke on the phone 3-4 times a week. It is still very hard to believe that he is gone.
John was an excellent basketball player in his day. Arguably one of the top 5 players ever from Trumbull HS, he also averaged 20 points per game in college at Tufts one season. He was very modest, never talked much about his abilities, but also very proud
of what he accomplished.
An excellent golfer, I played in many outings and tournaments with John. He had the right attitude on the course, and can remember him hitting many tremendous shots. The highlight being with him when he made his hole in one at Brownson CC 3 years ago in the Red Larson Classic. Awesome!
Always asking about my children and how they were doing, I miss speaking with him already.
RIP good buddy.

We are deeply saddened at John's sudden and unexpected passing. We've been his neighbors for 10 year. It's strange to pass his house and know he's not there. Just can't believe he's gone. He would walk around the island puffing on his cigar and tell me how much he enjoyed the smell of the fire from our wood stove when he walked. We will miss seeing you outside doing yard work and having a passing conversation. The neighborhood just isn't the same without seeing you there. My condolences to the family and his many friends. Such a nice guy who is already greatly missed. I to wish there was a way we could have paid our respects to John. Our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him. I was shocked and saddened to hear of John's tragic death. I'm told he was playing cards with the boys just a couple days earlier, with no sign of any physical impairment. I suppose John's death comes as even more of a shock to you, his family, as anyone.
But after hearing about someone I know who has died so young -- and these days, 62 is young indeed -- it's difficult to accept, and maybe even worse than the news of John's death itself, that I should simply digest the bad news and move on. I think I speak for many of John's friends who grieve over the sudden void that John once filled. Though only upon leisure occasions lately, there was a time when many of us struggled, played, and quipped with John every day.
I respectfully request that the family might see its way clear to somehow enable John's friends to bear witness to his being laid to rest, so that we may express our grief and our condolences to you, and share our experiences in having known him.
Rest in peace, John. You'll be missed.
