Obituary of Orest D'Eramo

Orest “Orbie” D’Eramo, age 88, of Hamden and formerly of Trumbull, beloved husband of Elsie Suffoletti D’Eramo, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Born in New Rochelle, NY on June 22, 1928, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Silvestri D’Eramo. Orbie had been the owner and operator of United Heating and Plumbing Contractors for over 50 years. He was an avid golfer, with St. Rita's Knights of Columbus, and bowler who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. In addition to his wife of 68 years, Elsie, survivors include his children, Michael D’Eramo and his wife Christine of FL, Gail Melkus and her husband Carl of Orange, Gary D’Eramo of Bridgeport and Eric D’Eramo and his wife Suzanne of Sandy Hook, a very dear niece, Lola Szobota and her husband John, ten cherished grandchildren, Erica D’Eramo and her husband Matthew Skinner, Briana Duhan and her husband Chris, Megan D’Eramo, Brett Collins, Stephanie Melkus Hashemi and her husband David, Ian Collins, Jillian D’Eramo, Caitlin D’Eramo, Lauren Melkus and Luke Collins, his sisters, Nellie DelGais of Bridgeport and Dolly Salce and her husband Anthony of Trumbull, as well as several other beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa D’Eramo Collins, brothers, Trent and Peter D’Eramo and a sister, Gloria Ferrara. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
