Obituary of Kathy W. Galloway

Kathy Wilders Galloway of Trumbull, CT, passed away in her home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 after a long illness. She was 68. She was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Thomas and Harriett Wilders. A 1970 graduate of the Speech and Theatre Department of American University, Kathy began her career as a successful character actress, later discovering that teaching was a form of performance. For many years Kathy enjoyed working as an instructor, teaching on site classes in word processing for the Center for Professional Computer Education in Trumbull. She also volunteered for many years coordinating a group of volunteer readers for CRIS Radio's Trumbull High School Studio, who gave the news, the Market Time segment and other reading information to the visually handicapped. Kathy was predeceased by her parents and her in-laws, Robert and Lee Galloway. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Ross Galloway, cousins William and Bing Heckman and their families, a large circle of longtime friends and her beloved dogs. Friends and family knew her infectious laugh, smile and warmth, her tremendous love of life, and her unending positive attitude even in the face of a serious illness over many years. She taught us by example and humor, and her positive outlook. We carry her in our hearts for a lifetime. Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. directly in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, the family request online memorial donations to the Connecticut Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or The After School at the Klein (ASK) program and The Klein Memorial Auditorium.
