Obituary of Michael L. Verderame

Michael Louis Verderame, 54, of West Haven, passed quietly with his loving wife, Korri, by his side. In addition to his wife, Michael leaves two sons, Nicholas Verderame and Jessica Henderson of Shelton and Louis Verderame of West Haven. Michael is survived by his mother, Patricia Cavallaro of Ansonia; his father, Ernest Verderame and his wife, Anne, of Branford; sister, Lynda Patrick and her husband Lee of Shelton and nephew, Keith Landock and his wife, Kalynn of Shelton. Michael, raised in Shelton, Connecticut, was first and foremost a man of faith, a devoted family man and a true sports enthusiast with a passion for all sports, most especially football and golf. Michael was a graduate of Salve Regina University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Communications. He was Sr. Director of Facilities with Clayton Services Group in Tampa Florida and Shelton, Connecticut. Recently, Michael realized a love for the beach - there he found the gentle breeze, softly crashing waves, sand beneath his feet and the hand of his wife to be a source of great comfort and peace. After being on the beach all day and watching as people slowly packed up to leave, he would say "I am not ready to go". In addition to his immediate family, Michael leaves behind his mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McDowell, Aunt and Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vaccaro, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and will always be "Uncle Mike" to more nieces & nephews than he could count. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him - by all who have been touched by him. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers and with deep appreciation of tremendous care, warmth and compassion, the family asks to please consider making a contribution to St. Margaret Mary Church, Shelton; Connecticut Hospice, Branford, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, 20 York St., New Haven, CT 06519 on Michael's behalf.
