Obituary of Aurea Coelho Pires

Aurea Coelho Pires, age 92, of Trumbull and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Manuel Pires, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. Joseph's Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Paradela, De Monforte, Chaves, Portugal on August 5, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Adelia Lima Bento. Aurea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cared very much for her family. She always put their needs before her own. The love and care she showed will always continue to live on in their hearts. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her six loving children, Mel Pires and his wife Janice of Shelton, Manny Pires and his wife Margarida of Trumbull, Tony Pires and his wife Ana of Trumbull, Noemia (Norm) Rodrigues and her husband Charles of Shelton, Gloria Rosa of Florida and Eusebio Pires of Shelton, eight cherished grandchildren Jennifer Pereira and her husband Jorge, Jason Pires and his wife Patty, Toni Rosa, Michael Pires and his wife Nancy, Lisa Brigham and her husband Eli, Kristen Barreira and her husband Alex, Jonathan Pires, Jack Pires, eight adored great grandchildren Mackenzi, Charles, Zayla, Zoe, Juliana, Alexander, Ariana and Logan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Eloi Bento and Lia Bento. The family will like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses of St. Joseph Center 4th floor B-wing and the staff of Life Choice Hospice of Orange for the professional and courteous care given to Aurea during her time of need. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
