Obituary of Barbara J. Vitale

Barbara Talarino Vitale, age 73, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Jerome F. Vitale Sr., passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport on April 1, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Marguerite Yacovelli Talarino. Along with her husband she owned and operated Lane's Hair Stylist of Fairfield and Norwalk. An avid lifelong artist, she was dedicated to the care of her family. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Jerry, survivors include Victoria Vitale Niedermeier and her husband Bob of Trumbull, Gina Marie Vitale Gomperts and her husband Chris of North Carolina, Jerome Vitale Jr. and his wife Mindy of Trumbull and Anthony Vitale of Stamford, a brother, Phillip Talarino of California, a sister, Marie Theresa Orfino of Florida, eleven grandchildren, Charity and Joseph Palamara, Jordan, Emily, William and Jack Gomperts, Rocco, Santino, Siena Lucia, Sofia and Eloisa Vitale, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
