Babcia welcomed me into the family with open arms and a bowl of soup. Maybe it was my appreciation for good cooking, but more likely her general demeanor, that I always saw her with a smile. It was always comfortable to be around Babcia. There was no pretense, she called things as she saw them. Her love for family was strong and I am glad she had time to see her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids grow. Babcia will be missed by all those who knew her, but her memory and her spirit will remain with us.
