Obituary of Eva Mary Pace
Eva Mary Pace, age 94, of Upland, California, and formerly of Bridgeport, CT, passed away on August 14, 2016. Eva was born on September 13, 1921, to the late Adamo and Speranza Mencucci. She graduated from Central High School in 1939, and worked at jobs related to the war effort until she was married in 1947, to Jerome T. Pace. Eva was involved in the Marchegiana M.A. Society, and was honored by the State of Connecticut and the City of Bridgeport for her dedication to the Italian-American community. She also volunteered on the Barnum Festival Parade Committee and for SWIM Across the Sound. Eva was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Jerome T. Pace, and sister Norma Pomerenk. Survivors include son Richard (Patricia) Pace, of Diamond Bar, CA; grandsons Michael Pace of Diamond Bar, CA, Nicholas (Sandra) Pace, of San Pedro, CA, and Jeffrey (Carly) Pace, of Long Beach, CA; great grandchildren Allisan, Kendra, Sebastian, Oliver, and Liliana; nieces Karen Papcun and Mary Migliaro, and nephews Gary Pomerenk and Joseph Miko. Memorials were private and entombment took place in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Charitable contributions may be made to SWIM Across the Sound, St. Vincent Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
