Obituary of Jeanne Halpin

Jeanne Halpin, age 70, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, on July 21, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Grace Barnish Halpin. A graduate of Stratford High, Class of 1964, she received an Associate's Degree from Sacred Heart University and became a mortgage underwriter for various local banks including People's United Bank in Bridgeport. Jeanne loved to cook and was a devoted animal lover. She also found great enjoyment with her sister as they traveled the world over together. Above all else however, was the time she cherished with her grandnieces and grandnephews, whom she adored so much. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Halpin and his wife Connie of Pasadena, CA, her sister, Joan M. Halpin of Newton, NJ, special niece Kathleen Alicks of Augusta, NJ as well as several other nieces and nephews and her very dear friend Tina Gabriel of Fairfield, who was at her side until the very end. She was predeceased by her brother, Brian Halpin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
