Obituary of Carole S. Bonnett
Carole Schott Bonnett, age 74, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Craig W. Bonnett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on December 21, 1941, but raised in Waterbury, she was a daughter of the late Hauer "Al" and Augusta "Bessie" Hagemann Schott. Carole began her career as a Physical Education coach at Madeira School for Girls in Virginia, then became head physical education coach at Rosemary Hall School. She then raised her family and enjoyed being a "Soccer Mom" as well as a Brownie Leader and served on the PTA Board in Trumbull. After raising her family she began a 26 year career in Human Resources at Macy's Department Store in Trumbull. She enjoyed playing Words with Friends, and also loved to play bridge. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her devoted husband Craig, survivors include two children, Chip Bonnett and his wife Deana of Winchester, MA and Kristen Misurale and her husband Brian of Waxhaw, NC, four cherished grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Tyler and Grace Bonnett and Emily and Connor Misurale, a niece, Susan O'Shea of Milford, nephew, Tom Griggs Jr., and great niece, Erin O'Shea. She was predeceased by her sister, Judie Griggs.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cafaro, Dr. Simkovitz and especially Dr. Folman and the nursing and administrative staff at Smilow Cancer Center, as well as the nurses and doctors at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
Friends can greet the family on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Memorial service will take place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Mary Taylor United Methodist Church, 168 Broad Street (On the Green), Milford. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
