Obituary of Elizabeth V. Memoli

Elizabeth "Libby" Churman Memoli, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Gene Memoli, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Fort Worth, TX on August 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Verona Morovasik Churman. An incredible cook, Libby loved music and was an advocate for the March of Dimes. Mrs. Memoli was always dedicated to the love and care of her family, always putting their needs first. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her devoted husband Gene of 63 years, survivors include her loving children, Frank Memoli and his companion Debi Sazama of Stratford, Gene Memoli and his wife Peggy of Shelton, Michael Memoli of Phoenix, AZ, Belinda Memoli and her fiancé Thomas Naples, Elizabeth Vittoria and her husband Salvatore, and Margaret Memoli all of Bridgeport, two sisters, Madeline "Ruth" Brush and MaryAnn Nyborg, five cherished grandchildren, Mario Memoli, Gino Memoli, Michaelyn Memoli and her husband Darrel Johnson, Anthony Memoli and Annabella McDonough and a adored great grandson, Darrel III as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony R. Memoli, three brothers, Eddie, Mike and Andy Churman and a sister, Susan Petruccelli. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sarita Flores for the loving care she provided to Elizabeth during her illness. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
