Obituary of Kevin J. Donahue Sr.

Kevin J. Donahue Sr., age 62, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, passed away peacefully on Friday July 29, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on August 13, 1953 he was a son of Muriel Dreher Donahue of Bridgeport and the late William Donahue. A graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1971, he was employed by Fair Auto Paint of Bridgeport with over 20 years of dedicated service and was a car enthusiast. "Poppy" treasured time spent with his family and looked forward to his weekly Sunday visits with his cherished grandsons. He will be truly missed by all. In addition to his mother Muriel, survivors include his two loving sons, Kevin J. Donahue Jr., and his wife Dawn of North Haven and Jeff Donahue of Port Orange, FL., two cherished grandsons, Kevin J. III and Griffin J. Donahue; three sisters, Kathleen Edwards and her husband James of Bridgeport, Terese Bilyard of Fairfield and Maureen Hurd and her husband Ralph of Seymour, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Donahue. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
