Obituary of Maria Montabana

Maria Cellini Montabana, also known as Mary, age 94, beloved wife of the late John Montabana, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born February 23, 1922 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Cellini. Maria was a kind and generous woman who spent most of her life in Bridgeport. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing meant more to her than her family. In her younger years, she worked for G.E. in the defense department, in the Trumbull High School cafeteria and as a receptionist for Lane's Beauty Salon. Maria loved her New York Yankees, especially Derek Jeter. She never missed a game on t.v. She was also a huge Patriots fan. In addition to her husband and loving parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Dan, Mike and John Cellini and two sisters Lena Giaquinto and Vilma Hill. Survivors include her beloved son, Gary Montabana and his wife Jeanmarie of Trumbull, two grandsons, John Montabana and his wife Amy of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Dan Montabana and his wife Meaghan of North Haven, four great grandchildren, Tyler and Evan Montabana and Bryce and Kendall Montabana, a devoted nephew, Richard Hill of Bridgeport, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport.
