Obituary of Guilhermina Queiroz

Guilherminia "Mina" Duque Queiroz, age 82, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Gentil Queiroz, was granted her angel wings at home on Monday, May 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family following a three year battle with cancer. Born in Calvão, Chaves, Portugal on September 28, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Domingos Duque and Cristina Duque. In addition to her husband Gentil, she was also predeceased by a daughter, Inês Queiroz and a sister Ana Duque Sosa. Mina was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Survivors include three sons, Joe, Carlos and Fernando Queiroz (Nicole), three daughters, Filomena Moura (Domingos), Teresa Moura (Domingos) and Olimpia Jacques (Michael), twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Domingos Duque of Florida, sisters, Alzira Duque Martins of FL, Maria Estevinho Mendes of Long Island, NY, Teresa Duque Orfaõ and Mariana Duque Rua both of Portugal as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. The family would like to give a special thank you to both Sister Fernandez and Sister Lopez for being by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 9 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 695 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
