Ronald J. Marino, Sr., age 78, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Mary Lou Graden Marino, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 10, 1937, he was a son of the late James Vincent Marino, Sr. and Olga Voccola Marino. Before moving to Shelton, he was a longtime resident of Fairfield and Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Marino enlisted in the United States Army in 1955, and was stationed in Germany. He worked in the Data Processing field for over 35 years at companies that included Data Products, Lone Star Industries, and most recently, Merrill Lynch. An avid restorer of antique cars, he was most proud of his 1936 Ford V-8. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and made friends wherever he went.
In addition to Mary Lou, his wife of 54 years, he was predeceased by his son, Ronald J. Marino, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Marino and her husband Glenn Ribotsky; grandchildren, Gabriel Marino-Ribotsky, and Rory Marino Kyriakides and her husband Demetrios; his brother, James Marino and his wife Janet, of Shelton; as well as his two nieces, Joy and Jill Marino, and their families, all of whom will miss him greatly.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull.
